Should we remove this section from the Character Infoboxes?
I'm still for keeping it. The status section displays the last known status of the character in question. Wilfre and The Mayor are considered to be deceased based on the games' events, whereas minor characters, such as Mick, are considered alive because they are alive when you play the game and have never died before the ending.
Regardless of what is done, people will still disagree about the overall status of the Raposa. The ending of TNC left their status ambiguous and there is nothing the wiki can do to clarify. Having statuses isn't dishonest or incorrect. They show the last known status of a character without assumptions on the ending.
On another note, before the new infoboxes were introduced there were character pages that ended off the article with text such as, "This character is assumed to have died with the rest of the Raposa in the sequel." I'm not convinced that removing the infobox field will resolve any issue when this has been a problem and disagreement from the start.
That makes more sense. However when looking at it, I think one would assume 'status' means their current status instead of their last known status. That may not sound like a big difference, but I think with this game it is. Besides, there are only around two characters who are deceased. If we're keeping it, I personally suggest that 'Status' is changed to 'Last Known Status' to remove any confusion. Also, I never said it would fix the issue. But I just felt like there was so much confusion from this, and it looked like the wiki was a little bias. We will probably always disagree when it comes to the ending, and that's okay! I just don't don't want people to argue over a small detail like that.
