Did the Mayor die?

Of course at the end of TNC he is dead after Mike wakes up, but after the first games events is he dead? He appears at Wilfre's Wasteland. Is that him? A ghost or spirit? Did Wilfre really kill the Mayor?

I'm pretty sure he did die and shows up as a ghost in DTL:TNC.

He did die but, when he appears in TNC, he isn't transparent like he was in the original. It might be intentional, but it IS something to think about. Who knows? Maybe the Creator brought him back to life?

It depends. Did you get the flower?

Exactly. He wasn't transparent. Only thing is he faded after the hero managed to break Wilfre's seal to the castle. Not very alive activity if you know what i mean.

I don't know. I'd probably say he didn't die, we all know what Wilfre is capable of.

in TNC, the Mayor did appear, but never interacted with anyone but the Hero. just like the Hero could see the Major at the end of the story in the first game. therefore, nobody is suprised to see the Major back.

I think it's been an oversight that he's not seen transparent, but I still think that it's his ghost.

That's a good point.

Mayor didn't interact with anyone else cause only The Hero was there at the time. Plus the other Raposa at the time didn't talk to the Hero either. Jowee was in Wilfre's castle with Mari and Wilfre, the raposa living in WIlfre's wasteland wouldn't talk to the Hero.

So the point is, the Mayor only spoke to the Hero because he was the only person there.

The Mayor never spoke or made an appearance before the Raposa arrived in Wilfre's Wasteland. Had he been alive, I'm sure he'd try regrouping with the rest of the villagers. He even seemed to know far more about the situation than any other Raposa, including Mari and Jowee, as he acted as a guide for The Hero. Going further, he also seemed to be aware of what Mari was going through (before Jowee and the rest of the village did) and even commented on her.

Besides, in the first game after Dr. Cure assesses his injuries she states that there is nothing that can be done for him and he fades away shortly after.

The Mayor showed up to let the Hero know what's going on (Or at least what to do) Since nobody else would've done so at the time. Besides, as a believer of ghosts I think some spirits CAN look life-like at times.

The Mayor was on Wilfre's Wasteland at the time. If he was alive then he must have been there the whole time. Otherwise you'd have to answer the question how did he get there?

So the reason he didn't regroup with the rest of the villagers was that he couldn't. He was on Wilfre's Wasteland the whole time and there was no way for him to get back to the village.

Yes I am suggesting Wilfre created his wasteland during the events of the first game. And when you think about it thats really the only valid option.

During the events of the wii sequel Wilfre is dead or trapped in the treasure box.

By the next chapter he has his wasteland. Ok its possible he created his wasteland during the events of the Next Chapter, though I'd say its more likely that he made it before the first game began, more time for him to do so.

It was a long time since Wilfre destroyed the book of life and when the Creator sent the hero to save the village. I reckon Wilfre made his wasteland during that amount of time.

I would say Wilfre didn't kill the Mayor, just took him prisoner to his wasteland. The thing we see vanish I reckon may have been one of Wilfre's ghosts. They can take on the form of Rapos afterall.
